It Takes Patience Open-Mind Persistence for Successful Website

For the past year I have been working hard on creating a Teaching website based on the topic Teacher Clarity. Little did I know it takes so much patience, persistence, and open mind to make it useful and informational for educators.

I am a retired teacher who taught for 19 years and I had a bachelor degree in Computer Information System Management from ages ago. I was not good at computer programming so I became a teacher instead. I never in a million years thought that I could create a website if it was not for my interest in blogging.

I gathered information on web hosting, SEO, Wordpress, and Social Media Marketing. I spent hours upon hours learning about Google Search Console and Google Analytics. I had no ideas what I was getting myself into. So, I told myself to take one step at time.

The first step is to choose a web hosting platform Bluehost. I learned about Wordpress using a book Wordpress 2020. I read and applied step by step that was written in the book to create my website. It took about 2 to 3 months to understand and use Wordpress.

Next step is to think about how to organize my content into categories, tags, pages, and posts. It took a while to understand the difference between a page and a post. I looked through Pinterest to look for posts on this.

Afterwards, I started writing posts. I was struggling with my writing, so I got some books about how to write education blogs and grammars, syntax, and discourse too. I felt like I was back in college learning English all over again. I know what you are thinking she is a teacher how can she struggle with writing. For your information writing takes practice and persistence to become good at it. You have no ideas how many times I just want to quit. But I kept an open-mind and tried to learn it by reading a lot.

So, when I finish writing and creating content for my website I post my site live on the web. It took trials and error to get it right, not perfect. I struggle to understand Search Engine Optimizations until I had to fix errors on meta descriptions, on-page and off- page, structure, and content. So I plowed through it by asking tech persons from Bluehost and using SEObility auditing tool to understand the basics of SEO.

I was proud of myself when my SEO score reached 85 which it means I am on the radar for Google Search Console to find my website. Thank God!

Just when you think I got this I had to think about keywords and how to make my content stand out from the rest. Plus how to spread the word on social media. I am pulling my hair out.

At the end, my website ranked 2nd on Google because of unique content. It took a lot of sweat and frustration to get to this point and there are still a lot of work to do. The point to all this is when you set your mind to do it, you can accomplish anything.
